The PocketVNC server was implemented to offer the functionality of a VNC server running on a PocketPC device.

The PocketVNC project is no port of the original open source VNC server for Windows, instead it is a complete new implementation on the PocketPC platform. The Hextile encoding algorithm used in the original RealVNC Server was changed to offer more performance on mobile devices.

The PocketVNC Server offers following functionality:

• Raw Encoding (quite slow according to the network bandwidth)
• Hextile Encoding (good performance according to the bandwidth and to the processor time used)
• Both Encoding styles are offered with 8bit and 16bit pixel depth. Reducing the images to 8bit pixels offers a really good performance over LAN and WLAN and an acceptable performance over Bluetooth connections.
• Filetransfer in combination with UltraVNC VNC clients!

VNCPassView is a small utility that recover the passwords stored by the VNC tool.

It can recover 2 of passwords: password stored for the current logged-on user (HKEY_CURRENT_USER in the Registry), and password stored for the all users.

This utility doesn’t require any installaion process or additional DLLs. Just run the executable file (VNCPassView.exe), and the VNC passwords will be displayed, if they are stored on your computer.

VNCRobot is a tool based on a VNC client.

It can control remote computers running a VNC server via the RFB protocol.

VNCRobot provides its own proprietary scripting language and a set of useful features allowing to program, verify and reproduce behavior of the remote computer and provide a comprehensive report, which makes it a powerful tool for automated testing of any software.
VNCRobot is a proprietary implementation of VNC viewer enhanced with additional functionality.

Apart from standard viewer functions it provides a scripting language which can simulate any user action and send the appropriate messages to the server.

For example, if you want to type a text on your server, you may type it in a standard way in the viewer or use a VNCRobot script command to type the text for you. There are commands for mouse moves, clicks and drags too.

You may also take screenshots of your desktop, check for desktop updates, perform image comparisons to verify result of your actions and many more.

These features allow you to write a script consisting of such commands and execute it repeatedly to reproduce a task, for example testing of a software product.
